Lawrence/Nelson FBLA Chapter to Hold Informational Meeting
Monday, July 22nd at 7 PM in the Nelson Park
Lawrence/Nelson will be starting their first-ever Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) Chapter this upcoming school year. There will be an informational meeting held on Monday, July 22nd, at 7 PM in Harbine Park in Nelson, NE (the park near the pool). The meeting will last until approximately 8 PM, and students will have brownie sundaes and receive information about the chapter and events planned for the chapter. The students are invited to go for a night swim at the Nelson Pool from 8 PM until 9:30 PM, or directly after the meeting ends.
Students in junior and senior high at Lawrence/Nelson are invited to attend this meeting and learn what FBLA is all about. Any parents who would like to learn more may also come to the meeting.
Students who are interested in applying for an office in the Lawrence/Nelson FBLA chapter are asked to fill out an officer application form and turn this in to Mrs. Epley no later than Friday, July 26th. Those who are best qualified for an office within the organization will be notified the following week, and are asked to attend an officer retreat on Friday, August 2nd, at 9 AM at the Manna Resort, along with the Sandy Creek FBLA Officers and their new sponsors, Levi Gorsuch and Holly Bischoff.
What will our FBLA chapter do?
- Promote competent, aggressive business leadership.
- Learn to understand the American business enterprise.
- Establish career goals.
- Encourage scholarship.
- Promote sound financial management.
- Develop character and self-confidence.
- Facilitate transition from school to work.
