2014 Homecoming Candidates Announced

Oct 13-17 Full of Homecoming Festivities

    The Lawrence/Nelson homecoming week will begin October 13th, and will conclude with coronation and a dance Friday, the 17th.  This years candidates are Carlie Mazour, Kristen Dunn, Maekayla Ward, Dakota Frahm-Thayer, Dillon Menke, Wyatt Thayer, and Brandon Skinner.  

    As always the students will dress up each day during homecoming week.  Members of L/N Student Council have voted on the theme for each day.  Monday will be Ugly Sweater Day, Tuesday will be White Out Day, (everyone wears a white t-shirt and writes on each other throughout the day with highlighter), Wednesday is Hipster/Nerd Day, Thursday is Famous Couples Day, and Friday is Black and Silver day.  

Monday all students will decorating their hallways from 7:30-9:00 a.m.  Teachers will vote on the best hallway and points will be awarded to the winning grade.  The grade with the most points at the end of the week will be given the Spirit Stick.  

    The parade will start Friday at 1:30 in Nelson.  The parade route begins at the football field, follows Wheeler north to the Courthouse, turns west on 2nd Street and then follows Maple back to the football field to the school.  Following the parade, a pep rally will be hosted in the high school gym.  

    The Raider Booster Club will sponsor a tailgate from 6 p.m. thru halftime in Lawrence on Friday the 17th.  The Raider football team will host the Red Cloud Warriors at 7 p.m. in Lawrence.  Coronation will immediately follow the football game, and the dance will begin 30 minutes after the crowning of king and queen.  The homecoming dance will again be held in the Lawrence Elementary gym.  All students are required to report within 30 minutes after coronation.
