Accelerated Reader 1st Quarter Assembly
Big Prizes Awarded To Students
Lawrence/Nelson celebrated AR success with Accelerated Reader Assemblies on Thursday, October 23rd at the elementary and on Friday, October 24th at the junior-senior high school. Dr. Gilson and Sharon Radabaugh put together programs with big prizes for those who met their goal! At the elementary school, both the second and third grades earned tickets to the IMAX for the entire class meeting their individual reading goals. Additionally, Keith Miller, Andrew Dischinger, Elsa Jorsensen, and Alexa Cox played for scooters and a karaoke machine with the girls defeating the boys. The "big" winners at the elementary for the Husker football tickets were Clay Williams and Evan Jacobitz. Because Evan had previous plans, Toby Kotinek was able to attend in his place, as Toby received third place in the Tic Tac game. Others who played the game were Logan Menke and Jason Domeier.
At the junior-senior high school, the big winners were James Mazour and Matthew Buescher with Husker tickets, while Jay Hewitt and Wyatt Thayer were also in the race for the prize. The eleventh grade and the eighth grade classes played for IMAX tickets with the juniors winning as all but one of the students in their class met their reading goal. All of the eighth grade class met their reading goal, and they were the only class in the junior-senior high school that met this goal. The iTunes gift cards were won by Cody Buescher, John Hoecker, and Dairien Edgar, as they defeated the team of Kristen Dunn, Maekayla Ward, and Emily Himmelberg, and the team of Morgan Menke, Savannah Brich, and Rachel Kathman. Abby Kile and Lizzy Tillmans were the winners of iPod shuffles.
Congratulations to those winning prizes and those meeting their AR goals. Keep working towards your second quarter goals, and get your name in for the future prizes! Your district is proud of you!
