L/N Fares Well At State FFA
The Lawrence Nelson FFA Chapter competed at the 2016 Nebraska FFA Convention last week, April 6-8 in Lincoln NE. They had the opportunity to listen to guest speakers, retiring addresses from State FFA Officers, participate in leadership workshops, tour Innovation Campus and compete in their FFA Contests. The following are the FFA Contests we competed in with the students that participated and how they did overall in their contests.
Agricultural Communications: Alyssa Miller, Harlie Himmelberg, and Hayden Epley. They received 7th Place overall as a team and Alyssa received 2nd place and a Purple ribbon in her individual competition and Harlie received a Blue ribbon in her individual contest.
Agricultural Technology and Mechanics: Brett Karmazin, Jacob Schultz, Gavyn Buschkoetter, and Anders Jensen. They received 17th place overall as a team and Jacob received a purple ribbon, Brett received a blue ribbon and Anders received a white ribbon.
Agriscience: Brody Himmelberg, Chelsea Kucera, Lane Heikkinen, and Kaden Thompson. Kaden and Brody received white ribbons.
Agronomy: Bailey Williams, Matt Buescher, Morgan Menke and Peyton Drudik. Matt received a white ribbon.
Floriculture: Harlie Himmelberg, Alyssa Miller, Hayden Epley and Mattee Kucera. They received 32nd place as a team but no individual ribbons.
Livestock Management: Bryce Buescher, Cherokee Frahm-Thayer, Haley Menke, Colton Biltoft, Molly McCartney and Mackinley Thayer. They received 31st as a team but no individual ribbons.
Overall we had a great year and competed well at state convention! We look forward to celebrating our achievements at the annual FFA Banquet on Friday April 22nd at 6:30pm. The banquet will again be held in the Nelson gymnasium.
