Clay County Spelling Bee
The 2017 Clay County Spelling Contest was held at the Sandy Creek Middle School on Wednesday, February 15th at 3pm. Participating schools were Harvard Public School, Sutton Christian School, Sutton Public School and Sandy Creek Elementary and Sandy Creek Middle School.
1st place winners received a plaque with their name on it and a certificate.
2nd,, 3rd & 4th place winners received a ribbon and a certificate.

The 1st and 2nd place winners in all 4 grade levels have the opportunity to go on to the District Spelling Contest in Fairbury, Nebraska at the Fairbury Jr-Sr High School on Saturday, March 4th.
The 1st place winner of the 8th grade level, Ashley Nierman from Harvard Public School, will have the opportunity to represent Clay County in the Omaha World Herald Midwest Spelling Bee at the Omaha Public School Teacher Administration Building on Saturday, March 11th.
