NCAPS Students Attend Health Career Expo at CCC in Hastings
Sixteen Students Get Hands-On Experience in the Medical Field
On April 5, students involved in the NCAPS Health Career Pathway attended the Health Career Expo at Central Community College in Hastings, NE. Students were exposed to 9 different careers in health care and participated in lots of hand-on activities. Our students were able to visit with staff and professionals in the fields of occupational therapy, dental hygiene and dental assisting, paramedic medicine, nursing, certified nursing assistant, medical assisting and medical technician. They were also able to explore the inside of an ambulance and medical helicopter and visit with the professionals that save lives on these vehicles!
There were nine students from SC and 7 from LN that attended the Expo. The day provided the students with real-life situations and how those in a variety of healthcare fields would respond.
