Launch the media gallery 1 player - media #5The annual District Music Contest was held on April 20, 2017. Lawrence/Nelson performances began with Sophomore, Rose Kathman's, playing of "Ballade" by Johann Friedrich Burgmüller. The High School/ Middle School choir then performed "Ode to Joy" by Ludwig Van Beethoven. This was followed by Senior, Michael Dunn's, performance of "Don't Cry For Me Argentina." Rose also played "Lyra" by Vander cook. The band finished off performances by playing "Free Spirit Overture" by Jerry Williams. "I thought it was a great opportunity to listen to different types of music and it was a great opportunity to find new ways to better our band. I thought everyone did well and look forward to it next year, " said Sophomore band member, Kaylee Kathman.
