Sandy Creek senior, Kaylee Yost, is the illustrator of the newly published book Mr. Ivan's Farm. Mr. Ivan's Farm is a book about the author's, Cynthia Fintel, grandchildren and their experiences on the family farm. Kaylee was asked to illustrate the book after being recommended by Ashley Swanson of the Clay County News. About the book: Growing up on a farm means always staying busy but also having a lot of fun. In Mr. Ivan's Farm, you will follow along as his granddaughter tells all about the farm and things on it. You will go through the seasons and routines of the average farmer with her as she explains how she is small but everything around her is big. Learn all about what makes a farm work and the many safety lesson she and her siblings and cousins have learned. It's a cute story that will make you laugh, with illustrations that will grab you from beginning to end.
About the author: Cynthia received her Bachelor's degree from Hastings College in Hastings, NE in Education/Social Science. She received her Master's degree from the University of Nebraska-Kearney campus in Counseling. She began her career as an Elementary Guidance Counselor, developing a guidance program for 700 children. She was a Clinical Counselor for 24 years, more than half of that time owning her own practice. Cynthia has been married for 38 years. She and her husband have two adult children who were raised on a farm outside of Sutton, Nebraska. She has five grandchildren who are the delight of her life. She likes to read to her grandchildren, read for pleasure, take long walks, ride bikes and go to the lake with friends.
