2018 Prom Royalty at Lawrence/Nelson
Kuceras named Prom King and Queen
Seniors Mattee Kucera and Riley Kucera were named the 2018 Lawrence/Nelson Prom King and Queen at the Prom festivities on Saturday, April 21st. The theme for the event was Arabian Nights, and candidates for royalty included:

- Morgan Menke
Bailey is the daughter of Terry and Melissa Cox. She is involved in student council, HOSA, cross country, and softball. Bailey’s plans after high school are to attend the University of Kearney where she will be majoring elementary education.
Morgan is the daughter of Gene and Linda Himmelberg and Mike and Angela Menke. She is involved in FFA, FCA, youth group, student council, and archery. Morgan’s plans after high school are to attend the University of Nebraska at Lincoln where she will major in agriculture economics.
Mattee is the daughter of Greg and Teena Kucera. She is involved in student council, FFA, FCA, FBLA, volleyball, basketball, archery, youth group, softball, and LN club. Mattee’s plans after high school are to attend the University of Nebraska at Lincoln where she will major in nutrition wellness.
Riley is the son of James and Judy Kucera. He is involved in football, quiz bowl, FCA, Knights of Columbus, youth group, National Honors Society, and archery. Riley’s plans after high school are to attend the University of Omaha where he will be majoring in engineering.
Jaden is the son of Duane and Sherry Himmelberg. He is involved in football, basketball, FFA, FCA, Knights of Columbus, and 4-H. Jaden’s plans after high school are to attend Southeast Community College at Beatrice where he will major in livestock management.
Peyton is the son of Jason and Tara Drudik. He is involved in football, basketball, golf, FFA, FCA, and youth group. Peyton’s plans after high school are to attend Central Community College at Hastings where he will be studying welding.
The 2017 Prom King and Queen Matt Buescher and Kayla Golay were present to crown this year's royalty. Matt is the son of Gary and Sheri Buescher. He is attending Kansas State studying agronomy. Kayla is the daughter of Dwight and Debbie Golay.
