Lady Raiders Place Third in State Volleyball Tournament
Going in as the #1 seed in the tournament, the Lady Raiders easily defeated Giltner in three sets: 25-10, 25-8, and 25-14.
Next up was a tough Humphrey St. Francis team. The same team that the football team had met earlier in the week, ironically also in the second round of the state playoffs, and both would come up short. The Lady Raiders found themselves with a 6-0 lead in the fifth set before falling to the St. Francis team by two: 13 to 15. This team scored only four points less than the St. Francis team in the entire game, and found themselves in the consolation game.
The team had nothing to hang their heads about and came out on fire for their final game of the year, taking on Wynot and winning in three sets: 25-23, 25-18, and 25-20. The Wynot team had battled with BDS the day before, and fell just short of winning in five sets as well. The Lady Raiders defeated the Wynot team in three sets, and brought home the third place plaque.
Congratulations to the Lady Raiders on their 31-5 season, and not only their appearance at the State Tournament, but their finish as well. We are proud of you!
