HOSA National Qualifiers 2019

Wheeland, Kathman & Mazour Qualify for Nationals

On Monday, March 18th, 2019, Lawrence/Nelson and Sandy Creek Health Occupation Students of America (HOSA) competed at the HOSA State Leadership Conference in Omaha, NE.  From the state competition, there were four that placed in the top four, and three that automatically qualified for the National Leadership Conference this summer in Orlando:

  • Megan Wheeland: 1st in Pathophysiology and 2nd in Physical Therapy
  • Brandi Mazour: 2nd in Human Growth and Development

  • Kaylee Kathman: 3rd in Behavioral Health and 5th in Nutrition

  • Emily Himmelberg:  4th in Transcultural Health Care

The top three qualifiers from State go to Nationals. Congratulations to the Lawrence/Nelson HOSA Sponsor Kristi Wehrman and our teachers for helping these students have a strong background in these events.  The Sandy Creek HOSA Chapter is sponsored by school nurse Brenda Searle.

Good luck to the team at Nationals!
