2019 Lawrence/Nelson Graduation Ceremony

On May 11, 2019, the senior class of 2019 took their final walk through the Lawrence/ Nelson Gym during the 2019 Graduation Ceremony. Guests of the ceremony were greeted by junior ushers Allison Miller, Emily Himmelberg, Trevin Kotinek, and Taylor Harrington. As the band played "Pomp and Circumstance" the seniors were ushered in by junior honor guards Hallie Epley and Annie McCartney, while the crowd watched on with pride. Lawrence/ Nelson's superintendent, Mrs. Otero, welcomed everyone to the ceremony and congratulated the senior class for this great accomplishment. The crowd was greeted by the senior class president, Jacob Sharp, who thanked everyone for the support and proclaimed this senior class as "the greatest of all time." The announcement of Valedictorian and Salutatorian came next. Since the race was so close Salutatorian Samantha Janda, shared the stage with classmate Brody Himmelberg to reminisce about each student and the memories they shared. Kaylee Kathman was awarded Valedictorian for all of her hard work during her time at L/N. The tears began to flow once the flowers were being handed out to friends and family that supported the senior class throughout their high school career. As names were called to receive their diplomas, graduates heard cheers and applause for all of their accomplishments. The one final task that they had to do as a class was the turning of their tassels and in a synchronized manner, they had finally achieved the title high school graduates. As they proceeded out of the gym, they were greeted by the faculty and staff of Lawrence/ Nelson. Hugs, high fives, fist bumps, and more tears were shared as the faculty saw them leave this gym for the last time. Congratulations to all of the Lawrence/ Nelson seniors of the Class of 2019. We are so proud of you and all of your accomplishments!
