Jessica Eileen Himmelberg- Senior Spotlight

Jessica Himmelberg, daughter of Beth and Randy Himmelberg, was born on August 13, 2002. Her siblings include Trey, 21, and freshman Claire. Jessica mentioned that her favorite childhood memory was when she went sledding at the farm with her uncle and brother. “Matt and Trey were looking to see if I was still on the sled and immediately ran into a hay bale. The rhino came to a stop and I slid underneath the rhino.” Her favorite vacation also included family and was when they went to San Diego. “It was the first time going to the ocean and the zoo we visited had so many cool animals with weird names,” she said.

The person that has made the biggest impact on Jessica’s life is her mom, Beth. This is because “she is staring at me while I’m writing this.” But in all seriousness, Jessica’s mom has shown her how to be brave when she is scared. As well as, how to care for family and show kindness to strangers. Jessica’s favorite holiday is also her mom’s birthday.

Jessica’s favorite extracurricular activity is Trap. She mentioned that it gives her confidence in her ability to shoot a gun and allows her to show off and “kick all of the boys’ butts in practice when they trash talk.” She said that the accomplishment she is most proud of is when she shot 25 targets in a row at a trap competition when she was 16.

Jessica’s advice for underclassmen is to stay on top of their homework. She thinks that procrastination does nothing but harm in the long run and it takes a lot of weight off of your shoulders when you get something accomplished on time. Jessica’s future plans are to go to college and major in biology. She hopes to stick around the local area and possibly work in a lab.
