Blake John Janda- Senior Spotlight
Blake Janda, son of Phil and Michelle Janda, was born on June 2, 2003. Blake has three siblings, Samantha, 19, freshman Connor, and Kynslee, 2. Blake’s most memorable vacation was when he was in fifth grade and he went to Disney World in Florida with his family. “It was cool because it was so big and there were a lot of fun rides.” He continued to say that they also went to the beach while they were there and he really enjoyed the whole experience. Blake enjoys spending time with this family and friends. His favorite memories will always include his trips to the lake; spending time on the water and tubing.
Blake mentioned that there are several people that have impacted his life, but the person who has made the biggest impact is his dad. He said that he chose his dad because “he’s taught me about everything I know, from how to do things on the farm to how to be a complete gentleman.” Working on the farm has taught Blake a great work ethic, which has carried over into academics and athletics. Blake commented that his favorite extracurricular activities include football and basketball. These are the two main sports that Blake has participated in most of his life. Blake mentioned that “sports are a way for me to have fun and compete… and I absolutely love to compete.”
Blake’s advice for the underclassmen is to work hard in everything that they do so that they can look back someday and be proud of their accomplishments. Blake plans to attend Central Community College at Kearney and work towards a degree in electrical technology. “In ten years I see myself living back around the local area, making a living as a successful electrician.”
