Avery Ann Mazour- Senior Spotlight

Avery Mazour, daughter of Craig and Amy Mazour, was born on March 1st, 2003. She has two siblings, Carlie (24) and sophomore Keaton. Avery’s most memorable vacation was when she went to Winter Park, Colorado with her family. “It was cool because we were able to go skiing, snowmobiling, and tubing.” While growing up, Avery mentioned that her least favorite chore to complete was the dishes. This seemed to be a common consensus between most of the 2021 senior class.

Avery’s shared that her favorite childhood memory was when her team won the Blue Hill Basketball Tournament in the sixth grade, saying that “it was like the state tournament for elementary kids!” Avery’s favorite sport is volleyball because of the girls she has played with and the memories they have made together. The accomplishment she is most proud of is making it to the state tournament in volleyball, basketball, and track at some point within her time in high school.

While in school, Avery enjoyed her history classes the most. This is because it is interesting to learn about the world and how it came to be what we see today. “I love to learn about the current issues plaguing the world and about how the U.S. Government works.” Avery’s advice for the underclassmen was to work hard in school, but don’t forget to have some fun!

When asked who has made the biggest impact on her life, Avery replied, “My parents, because they have always supported me and encouraged me in everything that I do.” Avery plans to attend Central Community College or Southeast Community College and major in a health sciences program. In 10 years, she hopes to move back to her hometown area and work as either a physical therapy assistant or occupational therapy assistant.
