Konnor Myles Thompson- Senior Spotlight

Konnor Thompson, son of Kent and Sara Thompson, was born on August 26th, 2002, and has three brothers which include, Kaden (19), seventh-grader Kole, and third-grader Kyler. The person that Konnor believes has made the biggest impact on his life thus far is his grandpa saying, “grandpa taught me how to farm and work with cows, which I enjoy doing to this day and hope to continue it in the future.” Konnor mentioned that his most memorable vacation was when he went to Colorado with his family. It was memorable because it was his first time seeing the mountains and was in awe of them. He also said that his most memorable childhood memory was driving the tractor for the first time. Konnor learned a lot from this experience. “I always wanted to drive the tractor and once I did, it felt pretty nice! It taught me how to be more efficient when doing chores and other situations that involve using farm equipment.”

When it comes to schooling and extracurricular activities, Konnor is a quiet and hardworking student. Konnor’s favorite sport is playing football, “it is the only sport I play and I enjoy being able to hit people without getting into trouble for it.” He also mentioned that his favorite class was welding because it is a good trade to know, especially going into the farming industry, and he enjoys that there are no homework requirements. Konnor’s accomplishment that is he is most proud of is being on the honor roll every semester. “I try my hardest and I like my grades to look good. It is also good for resumes and scholarship applications.”

Konnor’s advice for the underclassmen is to try their best in school and get good grades. “It will help you in the long run!” Konnor plans to attend Nebraska College of Technical Agriculture (NCTA) in Curtis, NE and hopes to major in Diversified Agricultural Management. He is also contemplating obtaining his certification in custom spraying applications. In the future, he sees himself living somewhere around Lawrence and hopefully farming.
