Blake Merway Wroughton- Senior Spotlight

Blake Wroughton, son of Scott and Deeanne Wroughton, was born on May, 27th, 2003. Blake is the youngest of two children, following his older sibling Jacob Wroughton (30). Blake’s favorite childhood memory was when he went to Kansas City with his family. His brother met them at their great aunt’s house and then they went to World’s of Fun. “This was always memorable because we went to World’s of Fun every year as a kid.” The accomplishment that Blake is most proud of happened in fourth grade when he was playing flag football. “It was the first time that I got to play and I got an interception in that game. It was exciting!”

Blake mentioned that his most memorable vacation was when he went to Destin, Florida with his family and friends. “We caught a hammerhead shark while on a fishing trip on the ocean.” He also enjoyed spending time with family and friends while there. Blake credits his brother Jacob for making the biggest impact on his life thus far. “He has taught me a lot, including how to fish, hunt, and how to drive. He has helped shape me into who I am today.”

In school, Blake participates in many activities. He says that history is his favorite subject because he likes to learn about anything that involves war and the United States Military. Blake’s favorite sport is basketball saying, “it’s something I love to do. I get to play with my friends and mess around in practice.”

Blake’s advice for the underclassmen is “If I can do it, you can do it!” After graduation, Blake plans to attend Central Community College in Hastings, Nebraska to major in CNC Machining. In the future, Blake hopes to be living back in the Nelson area and to be holding down a good job.
