Lawrence/Nelson Receives State Runner-Up & Wins Sportsmanship Trophy
National Meet Held in Kentucky
Lawrence/Nelson 4th - 12th graders competed in the State Archery Meet again on Saturday, March 23rd, 2019. This came after several high school boys had finished their morning competing in the State Powerlifting competition (where they received second).
The first award received was the State Sportsmanship Award. This was followed by fourth grader Grayhm Beck taking home the state championship honors in the elementary age group. Just behind Grayhm in hardware was Nathan Pofahl who received second in the elementary division and Grayhm’s sister Grayce, who finished fourth in the middle school.
Next up, Annie McCartney received the All-Nebraskan Academic Archer Award, and the elementary team received runner-up overall at the state level.
More specific results will be shared as they are made available, but the elementary had a team score of 2,440, and the high school level had several record-breaking scores.
A huge thank you to our coaches, Beth Himmelberg and Alycia Watts, who spent countless hours working with these kids! It is because of you they have this opportunity!
Way to make your communities and school proud, Raiders!
