Balanced Attack Boosts Raiders

Lawrence-Lawrence-Nelson won its first game of the season 30-16 with a dominant offensive effort against Meridan.  Quarterback, Dan Schroer completed six out of seven passes for 108 yards and then rushed for 26 more to lead the Raiders.

Chase Ehlers and Wyatt Thayer led the ground attack with 63 and 59 yard respectively.  Both scored rushing touchdowns to keep the game out of reach.

Dilon Menke led a stingy Raider defense with 17 tackles.  Coach Brian Blevins praised his defense.  "I was pleased with our physicality and effort.  I thought we team tackled really well."  Stephen Kimminau added 10 tackles holding Meridian under 70 total yards for most of the game.

The Raiders defense also forced turnovers.  Brandon Ward recovered a fumble and Dan Schroer returned an interception 29 yards.

The 1-0 Raiders meet Red Cloud next on the road.  Blevins expects a challenge.  "Red Cloud's option game will force our defense to play with discipline."
