Raiders Lose to Blue Devils

Lawrence/Nelson loses 62-22

The Lawrence/Nelson Raiders Football Team started off their season last Friday in Kenesaw on September 5th.  Even though the Raiders’ played well, they lost to Kenesaw.

For rushing, Wyatt Thayer had 59 total yards, Dillon Menke had 57 yards including 2 touch downs, and Colton Biltoft had 28 yards.  Dillon Menke also had a total of 12 points, Colton Biltoft passed to Brennan Miller for a 2 point conversion and he also had a 2 point conversion run.  Wyatt Thayer also recieved a kick return near Kenesaw’s touchdown line and ran it back for a touchdown.  The tackling stats for the game are listed below.

Brian Blevins, head coach, stated the team made a lot of mistakes both mentally and physically, but they still have a lot of room for improvement, as they started with alot of guys with very little playing experience.  Coach Blevins was also asked what he would like to work on in practice, “They need to stay on the course and continue to get better and improve our individual play”.  Blevins also stated that this week’s match-up (Hampton) is like us, they are young and and don’t have a lot of experience back.  He thinks Hampton will be a better match against us.

Next week, the Raiders will take on Hampton at home in Lawrence.  Please come support the Raiders!
