L/N Homecoming Dress Up Days Determined

Launch the media gallery 1 playerThe week of October 12th will be a busy one at Lawrence/Nelson with Homecoming on Friday, and several other events held throughout the week. Student Council has determined dress up days, and the Nelson Community Club will once again be sponsoring the annual Homecoming Parade. The parade will begin to line-up entries on Friday, October 17th at 1 PM north of the football field in Nelson, and will return to the high school, where the pep rally will be held in the gym. This is a change from past years where the pep rally was held in the park.
Dress up days and activities for Homecoming week are as follows:
Monday, October 13th:
- Classes will decorate their hallways from 7:30 AM - 9:00 AM. This will require planning on the students and class sponsor's part as they will need to have their supplies gathered before decorating begins, and will be given 1 1/2 hours to decorate their halls in a class competition! Class meetings will be held the prior week to determine what students are bringing what items, etc.
- Dress Up Day will be: Ugly Sweater Day
- JHVB v Shelton
- JHFB v Shelton
- PBIS Meeting in Lawrence at 6 & 7 PM for those on the committee
Tuesday, October 14th:
- One Act Play Practice at 7 AM
- Dress Up Day will be: White Out Day (wear a white t-shirt and write on each other with highlighters)
- 5th/6th Grade VB Practice in Lawrence at 3:45 PM
- HS VB v Blue Hill in Lawrence at 6 PM -- Parents Night
- FBLA Cake Raffle during volleyball games
Wednesday, October 15th:
- One Act Play Practice at 7 AM
- FBLA Chapter Meeting at 7:45 AM
- Dress Up Day will be: Hipster/Nerd Day
Thursday, October 16th:
- One Act Play Practice at 7 AM
- Dress Up Day will be: Famous Couples Day
- End of 1st Quarter
- 5th/6th Grade VB Practice in Lawrence at 3:45 PM
- HS VB v Franklin at 6 & 7 PM - Pink Out Night
Friday, October 17th:
- One Act Play Practice at 7 AM
- Dress Up Day will be: Black & Silver Day
- Homecoming Parade Line-Up at 1 PM, starting at the football field in Nelson & ending at the HS, with parade starting around 1:30 PM
- Homecoming Pep Rally at the HS, immediately following the parade
- Football Game at 7 PM v Red Cloud Warriors
- FBLA Come Home Safe Program before FB game
- Raider Booster Club Tailgate Party from 6 PM - Halftime
There will be class competitions held throughout the week over the lunch period with the coronation of the king and queen being held at the conclusion of the football game on Friday. The girls will be playing in the Twin Valley Conference Volleyball Tournament on that Saturday, October 18th, but the tournament details are not yet available.
