Fair Schedule and State Degree Information for L/N FFA Members

July 2nd, 11th, and 12th Work/Training Times for the Nuckolls County Fair

Attention FFA Members...This is a reminder that all FFA members are to meet at the Nuckolls County fairgrounds concession stand on Thursday, July 2nd, 2015, at 4 PM for clean up and food preparation information for the fair.

Members are also reminded to please be on time for your scheduled FFA shift on rodeo nights next Friday and Saturday night, July 11th and 12th.  If you have lost your schedule, you can find it HERE.  And please don't forget to wear a ball cap while working in the concession stand!  Also, the schedule for Sunday has changed and those are noted on the schedule change, which include the first shirt starting at 11 AM and working until 1 PM, and the second shift going from 1 - 3 PM, and the final shift from 3 - 6 PM.

Seniors are reminded that if they would like to apply for their state degree, they need to contact Mrs. Trausch by July 1st to set up a time for their SAE project to be checked on.

Here is some information on this prestigious award we would like to see many, if not all, of our senior FFA members attain before graduation:

  • The State FFA Degree is the highest degree the state association can bestow upon a member.  Each year members are awarded the degree based upon their comprehensive Supervised Agricultural Experience Program. FFA members must submit two years of SAE record books, complete the State FFA Degree application and meet all minimum qualification as well as pass a test in order to be awarded the State FFA Degree.
  • FFA members who have outstanding SAE programs may apply to be a State Star in Production, Agribusiness, Placement or Agriscience.  Twenty-four individuals are selected to be finalists each year and one Star is named in each of the four areas.
  • There is a requirement to have 25 hours of Community Service, 500 Leadership points, 4 semesters of Ag classes, two consecutive recordbooks, and to be an officer OR the head of a committee to apply.  There is money to be invested in this project, but it is well worth receiving this award at the State FFA Convention in April 2016!
