FBLA Prepares for Leadership Conference
Recently, eight members of the Lawrence/Nelson FBLA attended the UNK Loper Invitational to compete in various business related events. The tests that students took were very similar to the competitions at the annual State Leadership Conference which students will attend April 5-7. Those in attendance were: (9) Avery Mazour, Emily Miller, McKenzie Ostdiek; (10) Hallie Epley, Joanie Schultz; (11) Kaylee Kathman; (12) Hayden Epley, Mattee Kucera.
Over 130 students competed at the Kearney campus and the top 5 individual students placed in each event. Two students were able to tough out the competition and earned a place in their respective competitions. Senior, Mattee Kucera, placed 3rd in Job Interview while sophomore, Hallie Epley, placed 4th in FBLA Principles & Procedures.
FBLA members are actively preparing for the State Leadership Conference which will be held April 5-7 in Omaha. Students that earn a place in the top three will automatically earn a spot at the national convention in Baltimore, Maryland in June.
