Red Raiders Run Hard at District Cross Country Meet

Cross-Country Coach Lacey Wright said, "The Red Raiders fought hard on Thursday at their District Cross Country Meet. This year the district meet was scheduled to be held at Wildwood, but was held at Doane University due to the rain. The Red Raiders competed in the C-3 District Meet along with ten other schools. Other schools in our district this year were: Lincoln Christian, Adams Central, Milford, Wahoo, Minden, Kearny Catholic, Bishop Neumann, Central City, Fairbury, and Raymond Central. At the district meet the top 15 individuals qualify and the top 3 teams for state. Brayton Jarosik placed 12th, qualifying for state. The Red Raiders had multiple outstanding performances and many athletes broke their all-time personal bests. Athletes who broke their personal best include Joanie Schultz, Jessie Himmelberg, Kacie Herbek, Brayton Jarosik, Jayden Jorgensen, Cole Troudt, and Jacob Hagemeier."

Coach Writie went on to say, "It's a great honor to qualify for state. Brayton has worked hard all summer and all season preparing to get a chance to meet his goal of qualifying for state. As a coach, it feels good to have an athlete to qualify for state, but it feels even better, having the majority of your team break their personal bests. One of the best parts of being a coach is watching athletes grow and develop. We look forward to watching Brayton compete at state this Friday at Kearney!"
