Be Internet Smart

  • Pick a safe online identity and Don'™t use your age,  say if you are a boy or girl, or use your phone number. Don't say what your interests are or tell where you live.
  • Never tell anyone online where you will be or what you will be doing.
  • Never give out your password to anyone other than your parent or guardian.
  • Never write to someone who has made you feel uncomfortable or scared.
  • If you see something on the internet that makes you feel uncomfortable, turn it off and tell a parent.
  • Never open any files, pictures or games from people you do not know and trust.
  • Only add people as friends to your site or talk online to people if you know them in real life.
  • If you notice a friend acting odd or being secretive about what she/he is doing on the internet, be a good friend and tell an adult you trust.
  • Never be a cyberbully.

What not to post online

  • Address; Phone number; Name or location of your school
  • Pictures of yourself, especially suggestive ones
