Setting Search sites for safe searches

Internet safety videos and a free K-12 curriculum can be accessed at iSAFE @

Visit the following sites to have fun and be safe at the same time.

Cyberbullying Research (Great resources for educators, parents, and kids about how to deal with cyberbullying)
NetSmartzKids (Interactive resources to teach children how to be safer on and offline)
FBI Internet Safety web sites (Type in Internet Safety in Search bar)
SAFEKIDS (Includes digital citizenship, online safety & civility as well as an online safety quiz)
Digital safety: Staying Safe Online (Guide for parents and educators and how to keep students and themselves safe online)
Cyberbee Learning (Contains resources for educators to use in the classroom)
Kids Internet Safety Guide (Includes topics such as cyberbullying, identity theft plagiarism, computer viruses and general Internet safety)
Phishing Quiz (Good examples - We use this in keyboarding when we have phishing as a vocab word)

Be Internet Smart

Pick a safe online identity and Don'Ât use your age, say if you are a boy or girl, or use your phone number. Don't say what your interests are or tell where you live.
Never tell anyone online where you will be or what you will be doing.
Never give out your password to anyone other than your parent or guardian.
Never write to someone who has made you feel uncomfortable or scared.
If you see something on the internet that makes you feel uncomfortable, turn it off and tell a parent.
Never open any files, pictures or games from people you do not know and trust.
Only add people as friends to your site or talk online to people if you know them in real life.
If you notice a friend acting odd or being secretive about what she/he is doing on the internet, be a good friend and tell an adult you trust.
Never be a cyberbully.
