FCA Hosts First Fifth Quarter Event
Next Event is Friday, September 20th
The first LN Fifth Quarter Night was considered a success with over 30 high school students attending the event after the football game in Lawrence on Friday, September 6th. Pastor Ethan Feistner and Kellie Feistner, Pastors Joyce and Ivan Dean, along with FCA Sponsor Preston Hild and LN Principal Dana Epley, served sloppy nachos, brownies, cookies, and drinks to the youth attending the event.
Food was followed up by lots of games, ranging from Spoons (the big winners were Karigan Drudik and Krayton Kucera), washers (with Annie McCartney and Hallie Epley claiming themselves as winners), and 10 point pitch (with lots learning how to play!). And all of this was in conjunction with lots of sing alongs and a quick dance routine. The group voted to have another one after the football game on Friday, September 20th, in the elementary gym again with a breakfast buffet and brownie sundaes for Paul Grimes' birthday on this date! If students have school-appropriate board games they would like to play on this night, please bring them!
We hope to see ALL of our high school students, FCA members or not, attend the next event. We use the term "FCA" loosely as all high school students are welcome to join, regardless of whether or not you are in an athletic organization. It is a night of fun, food and fellowship for our students, and we encourage all of you to join for good food, laughs, and fun...hope to see you there!
Any high schooler who hasn't signed up to attend the Fields of Faith on Wednesday, October 9th, in Grand Island (bus leaves Nelson at 4:30 PM and Lawrence at 4:50 PM), is asked to sign up by Monday, September 9th. The sign up form is linked HERE. Students won't miss practices, as school/practices will dismiss early on this date for Parent Teacher Conferences in Nelson, which start at 2 PM.
